Meet the Team
I’m excited to announce, in March 2021, my daughter Emma joined the team at Clock and Compass, as our Digital Marketing Manager
I’m Daniel, the founder of Clock and Compass
I’m married and have 2 grown up children and 2 grandchildren
I love to cook and be creative in the kitchen, I play cricket in the summer months, the fitness, the banter and some great countryside views make for a top all round experience. I enjoy getting out into nature and taking long walks, self-care is a priority for me. I love reading and expanding my knowledge. Beach holidays, sun, sand and sea are amongst my favourites and of course, I love my work and helping others to spend more of their time doing what brings joy to their lives
I spent more than 28 years as a manager, leader and strategist in the corporate world. Within my roles, I was able to recruit, train and lead amazingly successful individuals and teams, helping them to grow, develop and thrive.
There have been periods in my life where I’ve struggled to find a happy, healthy life balance. Through constant pressures and increasing expectations, I suffered when stress and anxiety left me feeling overwhelmed, exhausted and on the verge of burnout.
The choices and changes I needed to make to bring my life back on track, are some of the tools and techniques I’ll share with you. We’ll work together to bring calm, resilience and new perspective to your life.
It was in the early nineties where my interest in personal development was ignited. Along with fellow managers, I attended a course by the late Stephen R Covey, The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People. The content of the course resonated with me, the power of the mind and how I could look at life from a new perspective. This drove my passion to learn more about how I could make improvements within my personal and professional life and then how I could use this knowledge to positively impact the lives of those around me.
Since attending the course, I have read more than a hundred books on the subjects of personal development, the power of the mind, verbal and non-verbal communication, personality profiling and many more. I’ve gone on to train and practice in the disciplines of Meditation, Mindfulness and Reiki. Also, during this time, I studied alongside my corporate work and qualified as a Hypnotherapist. My understanding and expertise within these disciplines helped me to transition from a stressed, reactive person, to introducing high levels of calm, resilience, balance and control into my life.
With my passion for helping others continuing to grow, in 2017 I made the decision to leave my job of 28 years in the corporate world and dedicate myself to a period of full time studies. I went on to increase my knowledge, skills and understanding, gaining further qualifications in the fields of Personal Development Coaching and Person-Centred Counselling.

My learning is ongoing, with further growth and development through regularly attending workshops around physical and emotional health and wellbeing, including, anxiety, stress and trauma. My library of educational books grows on a weekly basis, as my hunger to expand my knowledge and hone my expertise continues. In 2020, I went on to train and became a Mental Health First Aider, through Mental Health First Aid England.
I started my business, Clock and Compass in 2019, bringing together the learnings, knowledge, devotion, skills and experiences which I’ve gained during the last 30 years. This has meant I have successfully been able to help my clients to make the changes they wish to see in their lives, to fulfil their potential and achieve their goals.

As an advocate for mental health and not shying away from talking about my own journey, I absolutely LOVE being part of the Clock and Compass team and the Wellbeing community.
I live in Brighton and Hove, mainly because I’ve always felt most at home by the sea.
I love reading and my book list is never-ending! If you every fancy a chat about books, I’m your girl!
I’ve ridden a buffalo, swum with a dolphin and been stung by jellyfish 3 times. So, you could say my relationship with animals has been a bit hit and miss.
I’ve lived with anxiety and depression since my teens, and after many years of managing this to a good level, I have recently felt the need to unashamedly reach out for more help.
I have a primary teaching degree and lived in Spain as part of my training
