I’m Daniel, the founder of Clock and Compass
I’m married and have 2 grown up children, 1 grandchild and an exciting new addition on the way
I love to cook, play cricket in the summer, getting out in nature, taking long walks, self-care is a priority for me, I love reading and expanding my knowledge, beach holidays, sun, sand and sea are my favourites and of course, I love helping others to spend more of their time doing what brings joy to their lives
I spent more than 28 years as a manager, leader and strategist in the corporate world, which involved leading projects, developing strategies and solutions, together with supporting individuals and teams. Within my roles, I was able to recruit, train and lead amazingly successful individuals and teams, helping them to grow, develop and thrive, within the fast paced and challenging environment of the Financial Services Industry.
Throughout my life I have experienced the challenges of supporting my family whilst managing an extremely busy career, many times struggling to find a happy, healthy life balance. Through constant pressures and increasing expectations, I suffered when stress and anxiety left me feeling overwhelmed, exhausted and on the verge of burnout.
The choices and changes I needed to make to bring my life back on track, are some of the tools and techniques I’ll share with you. We’ll work together to bring calm and perspective to your life, giving you the opportunity to regain control and create the future you worried was lost.
I’ll take you back almost 30 years, when my interest in personal development, for self and others began, when I attended a course by the late Stephen R Covey, The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People. The content of the course resonated with me and ignited a passion to learn more about how I could make improvements within my personal and professional life and then how I could use this new found knowledge to positively impact the lives of those around me.
Through my hunger to learn more, I became fascinated with the complex working of the mind and how our thoughts control our feelings, our emotions, and our behaviours. I wanted to gain a greater understanding of how I could tap into the power of the mind, so that I could achieve a greater control of my thoughts, feelings and emotions and introduce more calm, balance and resilience into my life.
- Viktor Frankl
I went on to practice and train in the disciplines of Meditation, Mindfulness and Reiki. Through my learnings and practices, I transitioned from a stressed, reactive person, to introducing high levels of calm, balance and control into my life. With my passion for helping others growing, I made the decision to leave my secure job in the corporate world and dedicated myself to full time learning. I went on to further my studies and learning, increasing my knowledge and skills, gaining qualifications in the fields of Personal Development Coaching (with Distinction), Hypnotherapy and Person-Centred Counselling.
My learning continues to be ongoing, with further growth and development through regularly attending workshops around mental health and wellbeing, anxiety, stress and trauma. I have also recently trained and became a Mental Health First Aider, through Mental Health First Aid England.
Through the daily practices of my experiences and learning, I’ve achieved a calmer, healthier balance and a life which is aligned to the things which are most important to me. And, equally as important, with my knowledge, devotion, skills and experiences of the last 30 years, I am able to help my clients in a very powerful way
