As described in Wikipedia, Meditation is a practice where an individual uses a technique – such as mindfulness, or focusing the mind on a particular object, thought, or activity – to train attention and awareness, and achieve a mentally clear and emotionally calm and stable state.
Meditation helps us to free our mind and gain a greater sense of control, but that doesn’t mean blocking our thoughts. When our mind is busy, perhaps overwhelmed with so many thoughts, we want try to quiet the mind.
Where many people feel that they struggle to meditate, it’s because they are fighting their thoughts. Meditation is about allowing thoughts, acknowledging them and then letting them go, letting them drift away as our focus and attention is in returning to a peaceful place and time, in the present moment.
Speaking from many years of practicing meditation, I know how powerful it is for introducing an inner peace, an inner calmness, allowing the mind to completely relax, being free of external influences. Meditation was a key factor of finding my ‘Calm in the Chaos’ whilst I was working in the corporate world. You can read more about it in my Blog by Clicking Here
